Falling Apart
So, my laptop is a Dell model that is not made anymore, or so I have been told. It is a Latitude D600. Right now, I am propping it up with my knees as the base is set on my stomach. That little bar thing that has the power button and volume buttons is lopsided because one side is in place while the other is not. In other words, the screen is still attached to the rest of the laptop by only 10 wires. It doesn't even close properly. I know it is dangerous, but there is no way I can get it fixed.
This brings me to my question...
Is it better to have a notebook {or netbook?} instead of a baby laptop {or mini laptop... I call them "babies"} for webdesign, graphic design and writing? Or is it better to get a full-sized one?
I'll need one for when I start Distance Learning with ITT so that I can actually have all the programs required wherever I am at. I would use this laptop until I get a new one, but it will not let me install new programs--if it does, like it did Dreamweaver, it merely opens and then shuts automatically.
So ... HELP!!?? :'/

Re: Falling Apart
It really depends on the person and their preference.
I prefer full-sized laptops, because I just want to use one computer.
If I had a netbook, I would only use it for traveling and use a desktop at home, because I wouldn't want to use a tiny screen often.

The only reason I'm looking at the mini ones is because I don't like the widescreen ones, and I can't seem to find any full-sized laptops that are full screen. But thanks. (:

Re: Falling Apart
I've had another person complaining about Dell, it maybe good but then just falls apart when it's old so I think. My sister uses a notebook, I think it's pretty good but for me I like big screens that's why i use a desktop PC.

Yeah, big screens are nice, but I'm not always at home doing work. That's why I need a laptop. When I get my apartment, I may get a desktop, though. (: But for now, I think I'm going to get whichever is cheaper (notebook or mini laptop). Haha. :]
